New quarterly partnership with Face to Face Germantown

We’re happy to announce a brand new partnership with the nonprofit organization Face to Face, who operates here locally out of Germantown. From August 1st to October 15th, proceeds from all in-store donations of items will go to Face to Face to support their mission of caring for the needy in our community.

Like their logo says, Face to Face lives by the following values: Hospitality, Mutuality, and Transformation. Together, these tools are utilized to help provide support and solutions to those experiencing poverty in Philadelphia.

This nonprofit’s contributions to the neighborhood can be traced all the way back to 1984, where members of the St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church decided to cook and distribute hot meals for Germantown residents who needed it. From here, the group has snowballed and solidified itself into a center full of dedicated staff members and volunteers who aid in those experiencing poverty. They ensure basic necessities like food, toiletries, and health services. Access to social, legal, and educational services and programs are also provided, free of charge.

Face to Face emphasizes the importance of their Dining Room, which is available to those in need five days a week. Here, individuals are not only provided fresh, organic food, but are also given the opportunity to relax in the AC and socialize with others. They acknowledge that everyone is different, and therefore requires a special plan of assistance that is uniquely curated to them and their needs.

Private showers and monthly haircuts are also available at Face to Face, which both greatly attribute not only to one’s personal hygiene, but also to their sense of self and overall confidence. Even hobbies are encouraged and offered here, with an art studio and a computer lab available to nurture people’s interests and creativity. For struggling individuals who may not be able to find opportunities of genuine relief like this anywhere else, this organization has created a necessary pocket of pure joy and enrichment.

Face to Face goes out of its way to guarantee each and every person who enters their doors are regarded with nothing but the utmost respect. Despite individual differences or personal hardships, we are all still human beings deserving of kindness and care. In times of difficulty, Face to Face has proven to be a beacon of light guiding our community through the dark.
